We are all addicted, and this is the cause of many evils, including excess weight. To treat this, follow a detox such as "vital Cure" or Lemon Detox "! There are several variations of so called Lemon Detox cure, which has its roots in the fifties, and became popular in the 70s, or it was called "Master Cleanser", named after the author of the book, Stanley Burroughs. The principle is simple - you should just replace all solid food for a cocktail made with lemon juice and maple syrup for two weeks. Here is the recipe:
- freshly squeezed lemon
- maple syrup
- cayenne pepper (or fresh ginger)
- Water to reach a total volume of 1.5 liters, that is to say, the "ration" for the whole day.
It was founded out that lemon and cayenne pepper are cleansing ingredients that will rid the body of toxins and other impurities. As for the maple syrup, it is presented as a complete feed, which delivers the necessary energy, but also all the nutrients. Proponents of the method indicate that the main challenge of the method is primarily mental...
With 1.5 liter of such a potion, hard to deny that there will be weight loss: it is approximately 650 kcal per day, not just the minimum amount recommended for a very low energy diet (VLCD), which must be at least 800 kcal per day. Moreover, the weight loss will certainly not targeted on fat, but will be mostly water and muscle, since the potion is nearly devoid of protein and contains only sugars (mainly sucrose) for only source of energy.
This is far from complete nutrition ... Also, after a period of such restriction, the body will be eager to set aside any surplus energy during the resumption of a "normal diet ". And it's not pepper that will change much: although it has a thermogenic effect, including the presence of capsaicin, it is illusory to hope that it is enough to lose weight.
As for other nutrients, the beverage can be rightly claimed rich in vitamin C. But that's about it! And that, although maple syrup can be argued some interesting differences compared to pure sucrose, such as the presence of many nutrients.
